Kayaking 101 and 102, July 11, 2020
Learn the basics of kayaking during a beautiful morning Kayaking 101 session on scenic Keweenaw Bay! Kayaks and life jackets are provided. Intermediate level paddlers can join us for a Kayaking 102 paddle to the sloughs in the afternoon!
Starting and ending times: Kayaking 101 9 am to 12 pm, Kayaking 102 1 pm to 3 pm.
Location: Baraga State Park day use area.
Description: Free kayaking with all equipment provided. There will be beginner level/open paddling in our Kayaking 101 session and our Kayaking 102 session for intermediate paddlers will feature a wetlands program and a longer trip!
Details for participants: Youths 17 and under must be with an adult and be able to operate a kayak on their own. Life jackets must be worn at all times. No pre-registration is necessary for Kayaking 101. Kayaking 102 will be limited to 14 participants unless providing your own equipment. To pre-register for Kayaking 102, call the park at (906) 353-6558.
Cancellation policy: This program may be cancelled in the event of storms or high winds/small craft advisory on Lake Superior. Cancellations for pre-registered Kayaking 102 participants would be appreciated as soon as possible.
